Joe Somerville Joins Creative Coathanger Team

Joe is an established photographer, videographer and editor working across the Scottish Borders to champion local businesses, creative outlets and culture. Joe also worked in health and social care for several years, and understands the importance of having diverse and sustainable routes into a creative career.

Joe’s diverse experience in creative and commercial work operating at different scales and sectors fuels his main passion of championing young talent and creating opportunities for young people to access the creative industries.

As recipient of the Creative Coathanger’s first funded training award, Joe joined the Creative Coathanger team at leading Borders arts venue, MacArts in Galashiels, providing photography and technical support for the Creative Business Works Festival.

A lifelong fan of live theatre and performance, he can often be found documenting music gigs, shows and musicals throughout the Borders.
