Creative Coathanger Lab Day at Edinburgh Napier University

Creative Coathanger artists have been researching data visualisation using cutting-edge technology at the Creative Informatics E11 Studio in Edinburgh.

Bev Cornwell, Inge Panneels and Jules Horne were investigating LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and image sensors as part of research into Tweed mapmaking and creative visualisation of the Tweed catchment for the Connecting Threads project, run by Southern Uplands Partnership.

It was also a chance to get to know the Studio’s experimental technology, including robots, holography and 3D cameras. The E11 Studio is hosted at Edinburgh’s Napier University and is part of the AHRC-funded Creative Informatics programme to expand creative technology innovation in Scotland.
